  • The story has a well-developed conflict and/or themes. (2)
  • The story has a memorable ending. The conflict comes to a conclusion. (1)

Grammar

  • Every sentence is a complete sentence, containing a subject, predicate, and correct punctuation. (4)
  • Spelling is correct. (3)
  • Proper nouns are capitalized, common nouns are lower-case. (1)
  • Each new paragraph is indented. (1)
  • Dialogue is punctuated correctly. (1)

  • Paper is set up with correct heading. Rough drafts skip lines, final draft does not. Only write on ONE SIDE OF THE PAGE! (2)
