What have I Learned From the Earth's Birthday Celebration?

Today is April 25,2001 a day we help celebrate Earth's day at the playground. At ten we got ready to teach first to third graders. Our class worked on these activities, planting, fishing, recycled arts, mystery box, happy birthday to earth, friendly graph and measurements. My partner is Yan, we worked on the happy birthday to earth. Our activity is to teach them sing a song 'EVERGREEN, EVERBLUE', we teach them this song for the last event in this program. We always ask them how old is Earth, and if they guess, the answer is about 4 billion years old. Then they repeat after me on every line on the song sheet. Then we sing along with the tape recorder. This is the bad part. We don't always get through the whole song with the tape. I know being a teacher is hard when they complain that children do not listen to instructions. I wish I wasn't stuck to singing when there were other fun things to do. I felt that I would just memorize the song rather than teach them. I can recite it by repeating the song so many times. I tried hard and I felt proud when people walked by. I felt so happy that I'm a good kid doing my best but I am so tired out. I really had a great day.

What have I learned from the Earth's birthday celebration?

On April 25, 2001 I celebrated Earth Day. I celebrated it outside in our playground. The day was fine. But the weather was bad. It was cold and also windy. I learned that Earth Day is a day when people plant seeds and recycle. My activity was seed planter. The things I learned about myself was that I kind of make a good teacher because the kids do the things I want them to do and most of the kids know me. But some of them were shy. Some of them were fooling around. And didn't pay any attention. Also, they wanted to talk to each other and play on the school playground. I learned that plants help the environment. I had 49 students to teach. My partner was Jing Ye Chen. The kids always wanted to play with the soil. At the end of the day we all sang a song.
